Keeping Fit and being active is a very important part of people's lives at any age but more so as we get older. It has been suggested that people are now living longer but who would want to live longer if we lose our independence ?

 

That is why we must all try to keep our minds and our bodies fit and healthy by participating in some sort of exercise to enable us to keep our independence for as long as we can.

 

Never a true word was spoken"if you don't use it you will lose it "

 

The older we get the more excuses we make for not exercising because of all our aches and pains. We presume it is something we have to put up with as part of growing old, right ? No you couldn't be more wrong.

 

The Government are always telling us that obesity, diabetes and other such diseases are on the increase in the UK which are usually related to an unhealthy life style that we have adopted. We no longer move about as much as we use to and eat far too many fast foods.  However, when the time comes to try and do something about eating healthier and exercising more there isn't always classes available or suitable for EVERYONE, especially as we get the older.

REHABILITATION SEATED CLASSES (Shevington & Aspull Wigan and Westhoughton

Bolton ) are for men and women  who have limited walking ability and are unable to stand for very long or have breathing problems. Perhaps they may recently had major surgery like a hip or knee replacement getting over a stroke, heart attack, back pain and other chronic diseases and are looking for ways to keep their joints mobile and flexible while doing gentle exercise. It helps improve muscles strength for balance and the little walking we do in class helps against the prevention of falls.

 

TAI CHI FOR HEALTH STANDING CLASSES  (Shevington & Aspull Wigan,  Atherton & Stoneclough Manchester, Horwich & Westhoughton Boltonare suitable for both men & women who suffer from Arthritis, Back Pain, Diabetes and Osteoporosis to name but a few or for anyone who wishes to maintain their flexibility at a slower pace  while keeping their joints mobile while doing gentle exercises using slow controlled movements.  Tai Chi for Health  improves the mind, body and soul and is ideal if you just wish to de- stress or gain help with depression and self confidence.

 

TAI CHI 4 KIDZ  has an almost magical effect in health improvement. Children love to learn and they learn very fast especially when engaged in fun activity. Tai Chi program emphasizes the fun element while developing their mind and body and is designed to capture their attention, incorporating imagery games. Teachers and parents have also found improvement in their childrens sport and academic studies in school after doing Tai Chi. It helps to exercise the limbs and improves concentration. - ENQUERIES FROM SCHOOLS ARE WELCOMED.

 

 DANCERCISE CLASSES (Atherton Manchester, Aspull Wigan)  are for ladies who love to dance while combining exercise with dance movements. Just because we reach a certain age doesn't mean that we are over the hill and past it.  Some of my ladies could certain put some of the younger ones to shame.
