These seated exercises are suitable for both men and women who are not as energetic as they use to be and who are no longer able to stand for very long due to various reasons.
Keeping the heart and lungs strong, joints mobile and increasing muscle strength is all beneficial to keeping yourself as independent for as long as you can.
These gentle EXERCISES AND TAI CHI MOVEMENTS (where ever possible) the shoulders, arms, waist, legs and feet all play an important part in keeping the body and mind active. It will certainly help towards improving your posture, balance and the prevention of falls with the little bit of walking we do at the end of the lesson.
Visualization also plays an important part in keeping the mind alert. If you are unable to perform a certain movement then you should always try to visulize doing that particular movement.
It is important that you must always work to your own level of fitness and never try to keep up with everyone else. Never push yourself to do anything which is painful or out of your comfort zone because an alternative movement will always be offered to you if you let me know.
At the end of the lessons you will be shown how to "WALK" carefully pacing the foot down in the correct position. This is vital if you are getting over an operation or stroke which has left you unable to walk properly. Being aware of your walking will help towards

Flat shoes or trainers must be worn EVEN FOR SEATED CLASSES
With regards to payment there is no joining fee or membership fee, you only pay when you attend class so if your off ill or away on holiday you will not lose any money -
