SATURDAY MORNING MEDITATION
STRESS has become a buzzword to describe many aspects of the modern life and the difficulties we encounter although in many ways life is easier than ever before.
We are living longer and have a huge amount of technology to help improve our lives but STRESS is right up there along with a poor diet and lack of exercise for its damaging effect on our mental health and well being, especially if we want to continue to live a healthy life well into our old age.
STRESS is anything that threatens the body and provokes a reaction to cope with the threat, for example divorce, unemployment, bereavement, moving house, financial worries, illness, exams, disputes etc. Unfortunately, very few things affect our health more than STRESS. The body will react by breaking down the mechanisms that keep your stress hormones in balance and permanent raised stress levels will cause serious health problems at ANY AGE.
Chronic STRESS is linked to weight gain, cardiovasular disease, strokes, kidney disease, diabetes, cancer, depression, isolation, less response to vaccines, wounds heal more slowly, chronic inflammation, insomnia, loss of hair, erectile dysfunction, digestive disorders and loss of appetite to name a few.

2 Do you argue more with family, friends and colleagues?
3 Do you no longer feel happy at home and work?
4 Do you feel tired, irritable, confused, anxious?

Learning how to relax can help enormously in reducing STRESS levels.
Anyone over the age of 15yrs + are welcome to join us every fortnight. There is no need to tell me why you are there as it is strictly private and confidential.
